In this area, prospective candidates for even year county-level office will find the information and forms necessary to move forward with their run for office.
Candidate filing materials for Consolidated Elections are obtained from the district office of the unit of government for which the office is sought.
Candidates are advised to obtain legal counsel as to their qualification for office, the proper method for completing the petition forms with respect to the office, the qualifications of the signers and circulators, etc.
Election laws prescribe the forms to be submitted in seeking nomination to office. The DuPage County Election Commission has prepared suggested forms for petitions, statements of candidacy and loyalty oaths. The statement of economic interest is available from and filed with the DuPage County Clerk's Office.
